Amolatar District CAO arrested on allegations of corruption

The Police and the State House Anti-Corruption Unit have arrested the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Amolatar district, Paul Samuel Mbiiwa, on allegations of corruption and misuse of funds meant for district roads.

He was apprehended on Thesday July 2, 2024, and his arrest underscores the government’s commitment to combating graft and ensuring the proper utilization of public resources.
According to the Amolatar District LC5 Chairperson Geoffrey Ocen Kiring, the said fund was over Shs49million, adding that Mbiiwa has recorded a statement at the Amolatar Central Police Station as investigations into the matter continue.
The ongoing investigation will shed more light on the nature and extent of the alleged wrongdoing, and it is hoped that the outcome will send a strong message that corruption will not be tolerated, regardless of one’s position or status.
According to the District top officials, the arrest of the Amolatar district CAO is a step in the right direction, but there is still much work to be done to root out corruption and safeguard the public’s trust.
