Legendary Music Icon Ekuka Adongo Passes on

Lira, Uganda – Tragedy struck the music industry Saturday as news broke of the passing of Morish Sirikinti Ekuka Ogwal Adongo, popularly known as Wot ajo Aryo.

According to the Lira University Vice Chancellor Prof. Okaka Opio Dokotum, Ekuka Adongo, a renowned traditional music legend, died on Saturday, 16th November, at 12:23PM at Lira University Teaching Hospital, where he had been receiving treatment.

For over three decades, Ekuka dominated the airwaves with his unique sound, captivating audiences and earning him iconic status in Uganda’s music scene.

His contributions to traditional music have left an indelible mark on the industry.

Fans, fellow musicians, and community members are mourning the loss of this cultural giant, remembering Ekuka for his incredible talent, passion, and dedication to preserving Uganda’s rich cultural heritage.

Ekuka Adongo’s funeral planning meetings will take place at Ekuka’s home in Anyaronino Village, Odokomit, on Sunday 17th at 3:PM
